Dannemann

Dannemann is a globally renowned cigar brand originating from Brazil, founded in the second half of the 19th century by German businessman Geraldo Dannemann. The brand relies on the high-quality tobacco resources from Bahia, Brazil, and creates rich flavors thanks to its unique soil and climate conditions. The tobacco company was officially established in 1873 (some documents record it as 1867). Throughout its development, it has won numerous awards, including being granted the title of 'Royal Cigar Manufacturer' by Brazilian King Dom Pedro in 1883. In 1889, Dannemann led the construction of Brazil's first railway suspension bridge, establishing its high-end status. In 1954, the Swiss Borg Group acquired a stake, and in 1988, a full acquisition was completed, with the headquarters relocated to Switzerland, although the core hand-rolled cigars are still produced in Brazil. In terms of market presence, Dannemann holds a significant share in markets such as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with an annual global production of nearly 2 billion cigars, covering over 60 countries.
