Dominican Big Leaguer Cigars (DBL) is the brainchild of Francisco Almonte. The Francisco family has been in the tobacco business for three generations, and Francisco started working with tobacco at the age of seven. He had the privilege of working under the guidance of two of the world's most renowned cigar makers, Mr. Carlos Fuente and Mr. Litto Gomez (La Flor Dominicana). Both legendary cigar masters imparted a wealth of knowledge to Francisco, which he has infused into his own brand through his knowledge, experience, and craftsmanship. Collaborating with these two giants of the cigar industry has enabled Francisco to create incredible cigars that are immensely satisfying, flavorful, and perfectly constructed. The DBL cigar factory is located in Tamboril, Santiago, Dominican Republic. Tamboril is known as the "Cigar Capital of the World," home to the most recognized figures in the cigar industry and top rollers. It is the center of cigar manufacturing, with more cigar factories and rollers than anywhere else on the planet. The premium tobaccos used at the DBL cigar factory come from top farms around the world, including the Dominican Republic, Peru, Brazil, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Ecuador. Since 2013, Francisco has been growing high-quality Cuban and Dominican varieties of tobacco on the family's own farm.
