La Galera

In Tamboril, located in the Santiago suburbs of the Dominican Republic, many consider this to be the cigar capital of the world. On a sunny day, standing with Jose Arnaldo Blanco, known to everyone as "Jochy," he calmly enjoys a cigar. Since he can remember, this man has been involved with tobacco, and his unconditional love and passion for it are evident. Through hard work and determination, during his decades-long tenure as a manufacturer and producer, he has perfected the cultivation and processing of tobacco. His Tabacalera Palma factory has always been the home of special cigars, winning the love and appreciation of smokers around the world. As he slowly and calmly smokes a caramel-colored cigar, he realizes that everything is as he wished. He gazes fondly at a painting on the table, admiring the cigar rollers from nearly 80 years ago, a smile beginning to form on his face. In his mind, this is a perfect moment, one that can completely turn into reality what he sees. This is the beginning of it all, and La Galera was born.
