Description
In 2017, Habanos announced and released a cigar at the Cuban Cigar Festival, using tobacco harvested in 2011 from the PínardelRío province of Cuba (the westernmost province and the island's main production area), with a global limit of 5000 boxes, each containing 15 cigars. This was the first time H. Upmann was used for a Gran Reserva release, considered one of the top cigars produced by Habanos SA. (GR is an abbreviation for Gran Reserva, referred to as special collectible or special aged version, with a gold band marked 'GR' on the cigar label. All cigars in the Gran Reserva series use top-quality tobacco aged for five years or more. This is one of the rarest versions in the limited edition, with Habanos first issuing the GR series in 2009.)
