In 2021, Habanos S.A. announced that the Partagás brand would receive a Gran Reserva release, introducing a Partagás E2 version of the GR cigar, making it the first brand to release two GR cigars. Each box contains 15 cigars, with a limited release of 5000 boxes. (GR stands for Gran Reserva, which refers to the special reserve edition, and the cigar band features a gold ring with the letters GR. All cigars in the Gran Reserva series use top-quality tobacco leaves that have been aged for five years or more. This is one of the rarest versions in the limited edition, first released by Habanos in 2009.)
