Description

Humidor Features Herman Upmann was a German banker whose love for Havana cigars (Habanos) led him to settle in Havana in 1840. In 1844, he founded a bank and a Havana cigar factory, although the bank later failed. However, his Havana cigar brand has survived to this day, exemplifying the most refined Havana cigars ranging from mild to medium strength. The stability and security of the bank inspired this piece. This compact and symmetrical structure not only highlights the value of its contents but also ensures their proper protection. Four container sections are arranged around a central axis, creating a superstructure that evokes a tobacco leaf. This piece features interesting light and shadow effects. Similarly, the highlight of this piece is the key symbol located in one of the sections, referring to a lock, with an interesting component made of precious metals on one side. Other symbolic elements include metal bars crossed on the sides and faux screws, reminiscent of a bank's security system. This piece blends two wood colors. It has 20 drawers, accommodating 500 Havana cigars, and has 4 spaces for sealed boxes, bundled cigars, or tobacco bundles. It contains 340 Havana cigars, including: 20 Sir Winston -2017, 20 Maanum 54, 20 Maanum 50, 20 Maanum 56, 20 Maanum 46, 20 Maanum Especial, 20 Royal Robustos (CDH), 20 Connossieur A (CDH + HS), 20 Connossieur 8 (CDH + HS), 20 Connossieur No.1, 20 Butifara No. 2, 30 Double Coronas, 30 Propios EL, 20 Robustos, 20 Upmann No. 2, and 20 Tacos Imperiales. Humidor dimensions: height 170 cm; width 100 cm; depth 100 cm. Materials used: Okoume, cedar, stainless steel, and silver. Craftsmanship: fine woodworking and silver craftsmanship. Author information: This piece was created by the Group of artisans and artists Humidores Habana under the management of José Ernesto Aquilera Reina, with collaboration from Pablo, Plasencia Risoto, Gabriel Cisneros, Raúl Delgado Torres, and Oani Martinez. The design was completed by Carilin de la Vega. This is an experienced artisan team that has been creating exclusive humidors for the Cuba Cigar Festival and special series of vintage reproductions since 2005. All cigars are made using long filler (Tripa Larga). The tobacco leaves used for the wrapper and filler come from the Vuelta Abajo region. They are characterized by a blend of light and medium flavors.
